An Irish Blessing
“May your blessings outweigh the number of shamrocks that grow, and may trouble avoid you wherever you go.” – Irish Blessing
You know here at Lore’s Chocolates we are all about traditions. We have been counting our blessings and making Irish Potatoes for over 50 years as part of our St. Patrick’s Day celebration. The season begins in early January and lasts through St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.
As luck would have it, Irish potatoes were invented in the Philadelphia region over a century ago. After the Great Famine, Philadelphia’s Irish population grew exponentially. It’s believed that Irish immigrants invented the city’s beloved sugary treat, as they’re not found in Ireland.
Irish potatoes are a delightful Philadelphia confection made of coconut cream, which are then hand rolled in cinnamon to resemble an actual potato. Lore’s Irish Potatoes are creamy, delicious and a wonderful Philadelphia Tradition®.
So buy them fresh, buy them where they are made and may the luck of the Irish be with you. 🍀
